The next meeting of the Halifax Computer Club (HCC) will be Thursday,
June 1st, 2017, at 7:00 P.M. in the Community Room of Sobeys at the
corner of North St. and Windsor St., Halifax.

The next meeting of the Nova Scotia Linux Users Group will be
Monday, June 5th, at 5:30 P.M. at Uncommon Grounds Coffee Shop, 1030
South Park St., Halifax.

Both clubs are finding smaller turnouts as summer approaches, as members
have other interests and conflicting commitments, and as meeting topics
are seldom discussed in advance. NSLUG for several years had developed
an arrangement where every second meeting would be held in a classroom
at Dalhousie, rather than at Uncommon Grounds. One or two individuals
would present a topic -usually on Linux, but sometimes on such topics of
common interest, such as computer security. The classrooms at Dal. are
no longer available to outside groups, so the technical meetings have
been discontinued for some time.

Recently there has been some discussion at the coffee shop by several of
us who are members of both HCC and NSLUG about the possibility of having
one or more combined meetings of the two clubs, using the meeting
schedule of HCC at Sobeys, with someone provided by NSLUG to present a
topic which could be of common interest to members of both clubs. *As
always, guests are welcome at both clubs*, and HCC has a good video

I suggest that this idea be considered both at the next meeting of each
club and, if you wish, by sending messages to either club, or to both
clubs, as you choose. You might also consider what topics could be of
common interest to members of both clubs, and who could be prepared to
present them. The summer schedule for HCC is available at:

and the email addresses of the two clubs are:
