        He wanted to configure a RAID array to install onto.  Does the
        boot-floppies kernel autodetect RAID?  If so, you could set up
        your RAID partitions with gentoo, or Knoppix, or whatever, and
        then you wouldn't need raidutils on the install disk, just the
        RAID-enabled kernel.

Oh, right.

The standard boot-floppies don't, iirc.  But it's easy to build new
ones.  I think that's probably easier than debootstrapping it.
