You could manually edit your XF86Config file (usually in /etc/X11) and
make the required changes.

Did you install "woody" on top of an earlier installation?  I ask because
current (4.2) releases of XFree86 don't contain a program called
"XF86Setup" (or is that a Debianism?), and I don't think the S3 server is
called "S3" any more, but "s3virge".  In short, you might be using an
XF86Config from an earlier install or something.  If I were you I would
find and rename your XF86Config file (under /etc or /usr), rename it, and
run "xf86config" to build a new one.
