I forgot to mention,

i recommend you uninstall XPilot++ before installing XPilot5.
On Unix, do `rm -rf /usr/local/xpilot` .  You don't have to remove
/var/xpilot .
Otherwise, i fear the old /usr/local/xpilot/bin/xpilot program
will live on as a zombie to rear it's ugly obsolete head someday.
