Works for me too, with both 4.5.4 and XPilotClient.

Perhaps you were pressing some other key(s) at the same time
and had run into a problem i've seen where some keyboards
can't decode 3 or 4 keys from the switch matrix at the same time,
although, iirc, this was an ancient win95 only prob.

I can't think of how one would test this, other than mapping
wide to the X key.
