[nSLUG] Systemd log file showing boot up

I notice with systemd, at least on Debian, there is no more dmesg file.
The log files messages and syslog don't show the old message with the
kernel version announcing the system is coming up. This was once
a way to see when the system was rebooted last or went down
hard. What are people looking at for equivalent logging info
on that these days?
