That's precisely the information I'm looking for, and what I was seeing
myself before February. That suggests this was not intended as "global"
change, and is either something they overlooked or network triage
they're doing for certain pools running out of IP addresses.

Likewise;

  filename "^1/B4F7F2B9/";
  option tftp-server-name "bcc11-ns.eng.eastlink.ca";
  option bootfile-name "^1/B4F7F2B9/";
  option log-servers 24.222.150.153;

They could configure dhcpd to only serve it out to specific MAC address
scopes, but they probably figure no one looks at their dhcp leases.

class "SurfBroad" {
        match if (substring(hardware,1,3) = 00:0f:9f);
        option tftp-server-name "bcc11-ns.eng.eastlink.ca";
        option bootfile-name "^1/B4F7F2B9/";
        option log-servers 24.222.150.153;
}

Douglas, I assume you haven't seen any malformed options in your logs?
Maybe I'll try my luck emailing noc at corp again.
