Did you mean working on the wiki from the front or back end?

If you want experience working on wikis as a user, you're probably
better off working on a wiki that actually gets edited (but I don't
recommend the English Wikipedia).

For the backend: I guess it is operated by the admins collectively. I
don't know who they are, except that SynerG is probably one. I don't
know how comfortable they'd be having a noob doing work on it. Or me. I
assume they can handle it - if they need/want help/slave labour they
know where to find me :)
