I've only used cpan once pefore and it worked. Tried to use it again
and got this:

    bogus% cpan ParseExcel.pm

    CPAN: Storable loaded ok
    Going to read /home/mds/.cpan/Metadata
      Database was generated on Mon, 14 Apr 2008 10:29:46 GMT

    CPAN: Net::FTP loaded ok
    Fetching with Net::FTP:

    Going to read /home/mds/.cpan/sources/authors/01mailrc.txt.gz

      There's a new CPAN.pm version (v1.9304) available!
      [Current version is v1.7601]
      You might want to try
        install Bundle::CPAN
        reload cpan
      without quitting the current session. It should be a seamless
      upgrade
      while we are running...

    Killed

    bogus%

The two files mentioned were successfully fetched and saved in ~/.cpan.
So I try again:

bogus% cpan ParseExcel.pm

    CPAN: Storable loaded ok

dmesg shows:

    __alloc_pages: 0-order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0)
    VM: killing process cpan

Nothing is running that should max out memory -- no desktop, media
player/editor or the like. The perl module in question
(ParseExcel.pm) is not large.

Can you suggest what's wrong here? What I should do to fix it?

Tnx,
- Mike
