Be careful what you wish for. A replacement internet would almost
certainly require full authentication of every peer. On the plus side
spam, DDOS attacks, and other nuisances would stop. Encryption would
also be easy and everyone would use it to protect their privacy. On the
downside there would be zero anonymity.

It would be a great network for work. Not so fun for play.
