If you're curious, ("never spoil a good argument with facts") just
buy, from Radio Shack, Zellers, Kent etc, or borrow, a power monitor
like this:

electricity-usage-monitor/

OR plug the device into your smart-ish UPS and it'll tell you how
many watts, and work it out from there.

The devices in the links above will tell you kWh used; run them for a
day to figure out kWh per day.

Most allow you to plug in the cost of the kWh and show you the
dollars per day.
