Thanks a lot for your help. I figured it out anyways. For anyone else 
who might have this problem, create a new text file in your ~/Desktop 
directory called trash.desktop, and enter the following:

[Desktop Entry]
Comment=Contains removed files
EmptyIcon=trashcan_empty
Encoding=UTF-8
Icon=trashcan_full
Name=Trash
OnlyShowIn=KDE
Type=Link
URL=trash:/
