And some people want to see compiler activity flying across their screen
day and pick Gentoo.  These are the sorts of things hobby level
users have the liberty to find acceptable, but professional users
would often find pointless and costly to monitor on dozens of servers
under their administration.

The equivalent in pure Debian might be something like sidux, which provides
an installer to get you to the sid level.  Lotsa updates on that level.
