First make sure you have the right version of java installed properly:

What do get when you run 'which java'?

What do get when you run 'java -version'?


Then check that OpenOffice can find the java directories:

What do you get when you run:

 $ cd OpenOffice.org1.0/program
 $ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./javaldx
